13 Aug Statement of Health Care Transformation Task Force Executive Director Jeff Micklos on the Health Affairs blog “Innovation at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: A Vision for the Next Ten Years”

The Health Care Transformation Task Force welcomes the new vision statement on the future of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). The authors represent a leadership team that has demonstrated a strong, longstanding commitment to the success of the Affordable Care Act. They are the right leaders for the moment to advance value-based payment and care delivery not only within CMMI but also across the Medicare and Medicaid programs. We applaud the emphasis their new priorities place on ensuring system reform efforts reach vulnerable populations and positively impact health equity, as well as the focus on promoting affordability to drive better beneficiary engagement. We also commend their commitment to greater transparency and accessibility to CMMI data, which will provide insights well beyond those found in formal model evaluations that will help better align private sector payment reform efforts. The Task Force looks forward to continuing to partner with CMMI to achieve the transformation necessary to realize a modernized and resilient health care system in the United States.
