HCTTF Applauds Bipartisan Legislation to Support Accountable Care

Statement by Theresa Dreyer, CEO

The Health Care Transformation Task Force (HCTTF) welcomes the introduction of the bipartisan Patients First Act by Representatives John Joyce, M.D. (R-PA), Greg Murphy, M.D. (R-NC), and Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA). The legislation would modernize the Medicare physician payment system and strengthen the transition to value-based care through reforms including more predictable physician payment updates, improvements to quality measurement, continued support for advanced alternative payment models (APMs), and a new primary care hybrid payment pilot.

As a multi-stakeholder organization representing providers, payers, purchasers, and patient advocates, HCTTF appreciates the bill’s focus on creating a more sustainable physician payment system that supports coordinated, high-quality, patient-centered care. We look forward to working with Congress to advance policies that strengthen value-based payment and improve outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries.
