04 Jun Transforming GI Care to Improve Outcomes and Lower Costs
The Health Care Transformation Task Force released a new case study featuring Oshi Health’s multidisciplinary gastrointestinal (GI) care model, highlighting how value-based specialty integration can improve outcomes, enhance patient experience, and reduce avoidable health care spending.
Oshi Health’s model transitions GI care from episodic, procedure-based interventions to continuous, holistic care that addresses the root causes of GI symptoms. Through a multidisciplinary care team that includes GI providers, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists, patients receive coordinated support focused on dietary and behavior change, gut-brain interventions, and medication management.
Oshi Health partners with commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans to take accountability for avoidable utilization, outcomes, and patient experience. Their model has demonstrated strong clinical and financial outcomes, with nearly 95% of patients reporting symptom control, patient satisfaction scores doubling after entering the program, and annual cost savings exceeding $6,000 per patient.
