17 Aug The Task Force Provides Input to CMS on their Episode-Based Payment Model RFI
The Task Force developed a comprehensive set of recommendations in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Request for Information on Episode-based Payment Models. The Task Force’s policy communication to CMS focused on the following topics: (1) the types of services included in episodes; (2) the appropriate lengths of episodes; (3) the interplay between clinical episode models and accountable care organizations; (4) payment model structures; (5) mandatory versus voluntary clinical episode models; (6) quality measurement; and (7) health equity considerations. The Task Force looks forward to continuing to support CMS as it considers the future of episode-based payment models in the Medicare program.
