Advancing Value-Based Oncology Through 24/7, Integrated Virtual Cancer Care

Oncology is one of the most complex and high-cost areas of care, making it a critical opportunity for value-based transformation. The Task Force and Thyme Care, an oncology-focused value-based care enablement company, co-developed a case study showcasing how Thyme Care’s model improves patient outcomes and experience while reducing total cost of care.

Thyme Care provides 24/7 virtual oncology navigation in close collaboration with the member’s oncologist to improve care coordination and condition management between visits. Thyme Care partners with Medicare Advantage, Commercial health plans, employers, and risk-bearing provider groups to assume responsibility for the total cost of care for all members attributed to them, including drug spend. Thyme Care’s model demonstrates:

  • Reduced ED utilization
  • Reduced hospital admissions and readmissions
  • Reduced per member per month spend
  • Improved patient outcomes

These findings show how integrated, oncology-specific virtual care can make value-based oncology work at scale. This is the first in a series of case studies on value-based specialty integration.
