25 May HCTTF Issues Response to CMS Direct Provider Contracting RFI
The Task Force shared comments in response to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation’s Request for Information on Direct Provider Contracting (DPC) Models. There are aspects of direct provider contracting described in this RFI that have the potential to enable a greater proportion of practices to accept two-sided risk. This letter provides CMS with thoughtful considerations about how to implement a new model while enhancing existing coordinated care models, and offers additional questions for CMS to consider to ensure a DPC model could operate successfully in Medicare fee-for-service and ultimately improve quality and outcomes and lower costs.
