Statement by Jeff Micklos, Executive Director, Health Care Transformation Task Force

“The federal district court decision on Friday night ruling the entire Affordable Care Act unconstitutional was unexpected and led to much speculation over the weekend about what this means for many of the programs authorized by the ACA, including value-based payment models. We appreciate that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent notice to model participants on Sunday to reaffirm its commitment to the current work of the Innovation Center and to future models that drive better health outcomes at a lower cost. The court decision is a first step in a multi-step process and is not a final determination regarding the future of the ACA.”
